Pioneer Day and Other Fun

Sophie and I hung out every day she was here and it was so fun! We went to the gym together and took fun classes, took our kids to the park, ate snow cones, went to the pool, etc. I loved having my best friend right down the road! It was like a dream come true!

Carter is so fun to take to the pool! He didn't like the baby pool. Once I took him to the big pool his face lit up! He loves jumping from the side, but I always need to be watching cause ready or not he's jumping! Sophie's kids were hilarious too. Her little girl, Kinzi was bawling because her mom was making her swim. She kept saying, "Lawen! I need you!!" It made me laugh so hard. And her little boy, Baiden isn't afraid of anything!

Sophie's husband, Phil came down for the weekend and we all got to hang out at the Pioneer celebration. The Pioneer celebration is a big deal around here. (For those of you who don't know, the 24th of July we celebrate the LDS pioneers who came across the plains for our religious freedom.) Not only is the entire Gila Valley Mormon community involved, but people come from out of town and even non-members come to this big event here. Every ward does a float for the parade followed by food, music, and fireworks. It is so fun! Especially because we usually get to reunite with old friends. And I can't get enough fireworks in July.

Carter LOVED the parade! He jumped up and down and waved at all the floats.

Carter missed the Fourth of July fireworks so it was a blast watching him adore them. At the finale, Carter did a little dance that cracked us up! He has the funniest personality.
