This is Halloween

This halloween was nothing too fancy. Don and I didn't dress up either which means we're definitely going to have to make up for that next year. We went to trunk or treat at the Central church building and there were tons of people there. Carter walked around in his cute costume and I helped hand out candy. Then we went home and had few trick or treaters come by the house while Don and I watched Hocus Pocus (a halloween classic!) And that pretty much summed up our night. Nothing special, but Carter did look pretty darn cute. He'll be way excited next year when he actually know what it means. Can't wait!

The other day we jumped on the trampoline at my sister in law's house. I haven't been on a trampoline since I was first pregnant with Cdub and it was Carter's first time.

Funny story. So as I was doing this toe touch I peed my pants. Not a little. More like a lottle. I didn't completely soak my pants, but I peed so much that it leaked through my shorts. Disgusting, right? I'm only 23! This kind of stuff should not be happening to me yet!! I blame Carter.

DIY Project and Other Things

This has been my project for the last couple of weeks. I got this filing cabinet for free from my boss at CMI a couple years ago and it's been an eye sore. It was dark grey with a bunch of stickers on it including a big sticker of my old boss's chihuahua...it was lovely. I forgot to do a before picture, but this  was the end product. I got the idea from pinterest. (gotta love pinterest!) So if you want a how to go to my page. All it took was spray paint, mod podge, and material. So easy! Now I'm working on a giant painting of tulips for my sister in law. I don't think I've ever done anything so big. It's intimidating because it's so large and also it's nerving to do something for someone else. Hope she likes it!

In other news, Carter has been officially walking for a few weeks now! I have been dying for him to walk for MONTHS. It is so fun! Who cares if he gets into everything! Yesterday I put shoes on him for the first time at Wal-Mart. (K, let me rephrase that...he has worn shoes before, but never walked by himself in them.) He wouldn't take a step at first, but after some convincing I let him roam around the store. He was laughing and falling and had a good ole time. We also let him loose when we watch his cousins' football games. Don's family usually sits on the grass on the sidelines. A luxury of going to a small school! You don't have to sit in the stands. Carter loves it.

On Sunday, people kept asking me at church if I was so ready to have Carter go to nursery and I have to say that Carter must be really good for his age cause he doesn't bother me at all. Maybe he'll be terrible in a month or two? We teach primary and he just walks around the classroom, eats snacks and doesn't really bother anyone until he gets tired then one of us takes him out. Carter is the sweetest boy. He is so calm and just plays by himself all the time. Sometimes when I try to play with him he doesn't want to, he rather play by himself. Carter is also very sensitive. When we tell him no he immediately gets his feelings hurt and I laugh almost every time cause it's so cute haha. One thing Carter does do is throw tantrums. He doesn't have a lot of patience...at all. He does the roll on the floor kicking and screaming thing. It's my favorite. Other than that, he's awesome. He'll randomly come up to me and give me a hug and a kiss. SUCH a sweetie. I love having a momma's boy. I love getting to know his personality.

Random Update

Remember when I started Insanity and pooped out after a week?
Well I started again and I finished the second week! Woo! This program whips my butt, but I have told myself every morning that if I just do it I'll feel great and I'll regret it if I don't. Maybe the olympics have inspired me a little bit. Since I started the program over I've already noticed a difference since the last time I started. There's a fit test you take every two weeks and I keep improving! Don's going to start Insanity with me when he goes back to school. Believe it or not his schedule will be less hectic when he's going to school and working rather than just working. He has been working like a dog, but he sure is tan! Mmm mmm ;)
As for Carter, has been taking more steps. One of these days I know he's just going to walk into a room and take me by surprise. He practices by himself all the time. He'll try walking from chair to chair or couch to ottoman or to his toys. He especially likes to practice in the bathtub which drives me crazy because he falls down all the time. He'll be so happy when he walks and so will I!! Yesterday he took about 5 steps by himself which is the farthest he's ever done.

This kid cracks me up. This is what he does when I water the flowers. I think he thinks he's a flower too?

Carter LOVES going outside. Sometimes it's the only way I can calm him down when he's upset. 

The other day when I was in the shower I had a little visitor sitting on the drain. I love those two front teeth.

Carter waves ALL the time and blows kisses. He can also sound like a monkey and when he's done with his food he says, "ah-duh" (all done). I'm trying to work with him on that one. It's amazing how much he knows. I know he understands more than he can say or express. It's only a matter of time. He's brilliant. Carter is also the sweetest kid ever. We go visit his granny at the nursing home and without even telling him he automatically smothers her with kisses. When we went to Sophie's he smothered her little baby boy with kisses too. I don't even have to tell him to be soft or anything, he just is! My boy is a softie and that's okay with me. Sometimes when we tell him "no" he gets his feelings hurt. It's so sad! His little bottom lip slowly comes out. I've got a nasty cold right now and he has been so good just playing while I bum on the couch and watch the olympics.

Girls Night

Warning: Before reading this, if you don't already know, I have a strange and raunchy sense of humor.

Looking at these pictures I am DYING. Most of the pictures I can't post on here because they are HIGHLY inappropriate, but that's us... inappropriate. My friends Sophie Weech, Kelsey Hammond, and Megan Howell are the funnest girls I know. We all met at EA. They are the reasons why college was BOMB! I love them so much. I wish I lived closer so we could do more nights like this!
Soph and I had wanted to do a girls night for quite some time so Don and I drove to Mesa just for a weekend getaway. Saturday the boys went to go see the Dark Knight Rises at an Imax and went out to lunch and spent the day together while Sophie and I stayed home with the kids and played. Around 6pm the girls went out to eat at Sauce which is a yummy pizza place at Dana Park. We had hilarious conversations and talked about all sorts of embarrassing things.

Sophie and I shared a pizza and it was hard to decide what we should get since our tastes are so different. We ended getting a pepperoni and artichoke pizza...a little strange?

After dinner we got dessert at a rich people's grocery store that had an AMAZING bakery with lots of decadent desserts to choose from. We stopped at Barnes and Noble to go to the bathroom and of course we took pictures in there too.

After our potty break we got more dessert: Frozen Yogurt! Again, it was delicious.

We then spent about an hour walking around and posing at the fountain.

After Megan and Kelsey went home, Sophie and I weren't ready to go home yet so we googled "What to do right now in Mesa" and a site said laser tag. So laser tag we did. We barely made it for the last round. Surprisingly, there were families there at midnight along with some other weirdos. Sophie and I being some of them.

After laser tag we went to Wal Mart and did dance dares. For those who don't know what a dance dare is it's when you dance crazy behind a stranger when they're not looking.

I don't have Sophie's, but it was way funnier than this one.

And that concluded the night. I love those girls so much! It was just what I needed to get all my crazies out. Not only are they hilarious beyond reason, but they are all so down to earth and sweet. I have awesome friends.

Oh and this is Phil trying to do a handstand on one hand. He thought it looked easy and as you can tell, it's not.
